Maltese adventures || 3

On Good Friday, we decided to visit Mdina. We were all free from school, so we thought a trip to the "Silent City" was a good trip to spent our day. First, Mdina was the capital city of Malta. The St. Paul's Cathedral has been bombarded in the second world war and has been renovated after that. I'm not going to tell you about all the historical part, because you know Google knows a lot more than I do.

After that we decided whether to go to Valleta, the capital city to watch the procession they hold on Good Friday. But when we walked back to the busstop, we found out that there was a procession starting in Mdina itself. We decided to stay and watch what was going to happen.

All the people waiting for the procession to start.

The procession was pretty spectacular to see, they portrayed the story about jesus in costumes and with statues. It is very different from how they celebrate it in The Netherlands, but it was impressive to see.

This Sunday we will visit Marsaxlokk which is a fishers town. So expect to see more sunny, fishy pictures!
